I recently completed a 3-day juice fast and lost 7 lbs with no excercising! But more importantly to me, I feel better and have noticeably elevated energy levels. I purposely didn’t excercise while fasting to see just how much weight I could lose in the 3-days. I only consumed juiced veges and fruit in the form of smoothies five times a day during the fast. So it goes without saying that you need a juicer. I’ve seen good ones out there for about $150, or do like I did and just borrow one.
The experience went so well that I decided to continue on with the smoothies two times a day and add one healthy meal for the next 7 days to see what would happen. My energy levels continued to increase! And I’ve noticed more clarity in my thinking, plus my weight has dropped more too, I’m down 12.5 lbs after 10 days.
I started this venture after watching the documentary called “Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead” on Netflix. I got the motivation I needed to get the ball rolling, and I can’t tell you how happy I am that I did.
I’m not going to lie to you, I’m going to be straight up about the good and bad of juicing. The first day wasn’t that hard at all, the second day was harder for me. The taste of the drinks took some getting used to, but all in all they aren’t that bad, and you do get used to the taste. I never felt like I was starving during the 10 days, however I did feel hungry at times.
Another thing I heard about before beginning the fast, that I admit was a bit concerning, was that I’d be spending a good amount of time on the pooper, and even more horrifying was the chance of an unexpected ‘blow-out,’ quite possibly while mingling with friends, or while grunting out that last rep at the gym. I Was lucky though, my blow-out came at a time when I happened to be wearing brown slacks, so it wasn’t that noticeable. Of course I’m joking, and no, there was no clothing damaged or ruined during my jucing event 🙂
The cost of juicing for one day (when drinking 5 drinks a day) was somewhere in the neighborhood of $23, but I bought most of my veges and fruit from Publix, they can be found cheaper at a roadside stand I’m sure.
I’ll share with you a few of the drinks I made (along with the names I gave them):

There was another drink I consumed during the fast called “Mean Green,” I didn’t share this recipe because you can get it from the documentary or the web very easily. Plus it tasted yucky! I had a hard time getting this one down.
So there you are, I gave you three of my favorite drinks to get you started, check the web for thousands of other recipes, or better yet, make up your own. These drinks are loaded with vitamins and minerals and all things good, so if you’ve been feeling sluggish lately, or if your thinking has been a bit clouded, or if you’re carrrying around a few too many pounds – the 7 day Juicing Challenge is for you!
You can do this!!!!
